Afterwards, Princess An hijacks the married Princess Taiping and replaces her sister Taiping to return to the palace, waiting for an opportunity to seek revenge against Wu Zetian. She also launches a divine dragon coup, intending to become the empress. In the drama, Empress Wu Zetian is played by Liu Yuxin and Li Xiang, while Taiping's first love Xue Shao is played by Zhu Zixiao. Zheng Shuang plays the young Taiping, and Jia Jingwen, who has returned from a two-year hiatus, plays two roles on her own: the gentle middle-aged Taiping Princess and the strong and resolute Princess An. Princess An in the drama is a soulful character and one of the biggest highlights. Princess An is a fictional character, but it seems to be a combination of Princess Anle and Princess Taiping in official history.
